Our Founding Mandate
Incorporated as a Federal Corporation under the Canada Business Corporations Act, Basilio Trading Co. was founded in 2026 with a singular mandate: to provide independent Western Canadian agricultural producers with direct, structured access to global commodity markets — without the friction, opacity, and counterparty risk that has historically disadvantaged smaller producers in international trade.
Operating under the Canada-European Union Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA), our firm is positioned to facilitate preferential-tariff commodity exports to EU member states, as well as to markets across Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and North Africa. Every transaction is structured to meet the full requirements of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and applicable international import protocols.
We are not a broker. We are a principal trading firm — we take ownership of the commodity, manage the full logistics chain, and deliver to the buyer's port of discharge under internationally recognised Incoterms. This model eliminates ambiguity, protects both producer and buyer, and ensures every shipment is backed by a Transferable Letter of Credit issued through a Tier-1 Canadian financial institution.
